Tile Coasters

These coasters are super cute, cheap to make and easy!

You will need:

  • Scrapbook paper or a selection of photos
  • 4×4″ tiles x 4
  • Mod Podge
  • Clear acrylic spray paint
  • Cork sheeting
  • Rub’n’buff or acrylic paint
  • PVA Glue
  • Stanley knife
  • Paint Brush

And here is how it is done:

Use the stanley knife to cut the scrapbook paper (or you photos) to the size of your tiles. I did this by placing the tile along the edge of the paper and tracing the tile with the stanley knife.

Use the Stanley knife again to cut the cork sheeting, make this smaller than your tile. I did this by placing the tile over the edge of the cork and tracing around the tile with the stanley knife.

Use the Rub’n’buff or your Acrylic Paint to paint the edges of your tiles.

Use a mixture with equal parts of both Mod Podge and PVA to adhre the paper to the tiles and let dry.

Once dry use the paint brush to apply 2 thin coats of Mod Podge over the paper and edges of the tile to make it waterproof.

Once dry use the PVA glue to adhere the cork on the underside of the tile.

Lastly, use clear acrylic spray paint to seal the coasters by applying two even coats and voila!

Have fun!
